Standing Committee of PetroVietNam labor union visited and worked at PTSC Thanh Hoa

On the afternoon of May 28^th, Mrs.Nghiem Thuy Lan – Chairman of Petrovietnam Labor Union together with standing committees and the delegation paid a visit and worked at PTSC Thanh Hoa Port Joint Stock Company.

Representative for Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) and PTSC Thanh Hoa Port Joint Stock Company were Mr. Nguyen Tran Toan - a member of Petrovietnam Labor Union and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, Vice President, Chairman of Labor Union of PTSC; Mr. Le Van Nga - Chairman of the Board of Directors of PTSC Thanh Hoa,  Secretary of Party Committee; Mr. To Ngoc Thu - Chairman of Labor Union of PTSC Thanh Hoa,  Deputy Director together with members of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee, Board of Directors, Executive Committee of the Trade Union, Youth Union, Veteran's Association and other staffs and workers of PTSC Thanh Hoa.

Mr. Nguyen Tran Toan - Chairman of Labor Union of PTSC, Vice President shared with the delegation about production and business activities, labor union’s activities of PTSC and project organization of PTSC at Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemicals LLC. Beside that, the company invested more than 30 billion VND in accommodation, sports training areas for employees from all packages of Nghi Son Oil Refinery. On the other site PTSC Thanh Hoa enumerated difficulties and obstacles need the support of the Standing Committee of Petrovietnam Labor Union.

Mr. Le Van Nga - Director of PTSC Thanh Hoa has reported to the delegation about the characteristics and situation of production and business activities of the company since taken over from the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, especially the work promptly bring the unfinished assets received from Vinashin into operation, avoiding waste of resources and assets invested. Up to now, the results of business activities have made many positive and prosperous changes. From the first days of taking over from the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province with more than 250 employees, the average income is over 3 million VND / person / month, the turnover is more than 30 billion / year with the main business service is Ports Base. Up to now, PTSC Thanh Hoa has had a great development with the number of employees is over 430 people, the average income of employees is over 18 million VND / person-month, revenue in 2015, 2016 respectively 711 billion VND and nearly 500 billion VND with five main business lines: Ports Base , Mechanical & Contruction,Logistic,Vessels Service,Shipping Agency... In parallel, PTSC and PTSC Thanh Hoa has organized many social security programs in Thanh Hoa province with a total value over 50 billion VND

Mr. To Ngoc Thu, Chairman of Labor Union of PTSC Thanh Hoa has reported to the delegation about the situation of labor, employment, income, implementation of regimes and policies for laborers and other activities of the company. Over the past years, under the leadership of the Party Committee of the Company and the support of Labor Union of PTSC, the living conditions of PTSC employees have always been paid attention and constantly improve, job, income and policies are guaranteed; many benefits to the workers, such as social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, recreation, welfare, movement emulation production, physical training for employees is enhanced.

This result gained thanks to the important contribution of Labor Union of PTSC, Labor Union of PTSC Thanh Hoa, as well as the efforts of employees, in the development of appropriate solutions, creative direction, organize emulation movements and take good care of the workers so they can be assured of good work. Specifically, the movement "Innovation, improvement", "Occupational Safety and Hygiene", planting and use of clean vegetables ... are actively implemented by Labor Union of PTSC. The work of women, implementing grassroots democracy, training and fostering of trade union cadres have achieved high results. Quarterly, PTSC Thanh Hoa organizes dialogues to listen, answer questions and suggestions of employees and also informs employees about issues related to business performance of the company. At the conversation, the problems of the workers are handled promptly and satisfactorily to keep employees’s mind on their work.

In order to improve business efficiency, job security, quality of life and income for employees, Labor Union of PTSC and Board of Labor also asked the Standing Committee of Labor Union of Petrovietnam Labor Union’s support to solve difficulties of the company as follows:

1. Having comments to support PTSC in completing procedures and leasing documents of PetroVietnam in the receiving area from Vinashin to complete investment procedures, port expansion, capacity building, Competitiveness and job creation for the dynamic

2. Having opinions with Thanh Hoa province's Confederation of Labor and other competent authorities to soon complete the 513 road connecting National Highway 1A to the port which has been constructed long time but not yet completed, causing difficulties and unsafety to the people and means of transport on this road.

3. It is proposed that PetroVietnam Labor Union organize a series of skill exams for employees to participate in, improve their skills and continue to organize training courses for union officials to improve their knowledge, labor union activities

4. Advice to NSRP on the use of services provided by PVN's member units.

After listening to the opinions of PTSC leaders and workers of PTSCc Thanh Hoa, Mrs. Nghiem Thuy Lan - Chairman of PetroVietnam Labor Union, was delighted with the result. PTSC in general and PTSC Thanh Hoa in particular are the bright spots in production and business activities, social security, ensure job and living condition of workers, especially in the difficult period of the oil and gas industry. She noted the difficulties and suggestions of PTSC Thanh Hoa to propose to the relevant agencies and levels to assist the company to remove difficulties. As for the work of the union, the employee, she also noted Labor Union of PTSC Thanh Hoa should pay more attention to the dialogue work, the implementation of grassroots democracy, to settle the questions of employees about regulation, policies; to enhance training of trade union officials so as to raise the efficiency of their operations and meet the requirements of the integration process.

In the working program, the Standing Committee of PetroVietnam Labor Union presented gifts to workers of PTSC Thanh Hoa on the occasion of Labor Month. 

The visit and work of the Standing Committee of PetroVietnam Labor Union was a great success, in a cheerful atmosphere, leaving many sentiments and impressions in employees of PTSC Thanh Hoa as well as the delegation.
