PetroVietnam Labor Union: A successful term in foreign affairs

One of the highlights of PetroVietnam Labor Union in the term V (2013-2018) is to expand cooperation with many major Labor Unions of some countries in the world.

PetroVietnam is always the pioneer in foreign affairs movement. Foreign affairs activities help PetroVietnam Labor Union’s members to have chances to learn and enhance communication skills, negotiation skills and methods of union activities, as well as to introduce Vietnamese people and culture.

Chairman of PetroVietnam Labor Union signed the memorandum of bilateral cooperation with Belarus Oil and Gas Labor Union in the term of 2018 -2023

In this term, PetroVietnam, Labor Union has been the member of IndustriALL Global Union, showing the position of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in general and PetroVietnam Labor Union in particular that have been increasingly promoted in the system of the global unions.

For five years, PetroVietnam Labor Union has taken part in almost important international events such as Trade Union Congress, Global Summit of Women, and World Energy Engineering Conference.

In this event, PetroVietnam has discussed with leaders of some countries’ labor unions and learned a lot of experiences in organizing labor union activities and movement. PetroVietnam has signed the memorandum of bilateral cooperation with oil and gas labor unions of Russia, Belarus, Norway, Uzbekistan, Japan and Korea. . Additionally, PetroVietnam Labor Union has had memorandum of understanding with labor unions of Portugal, Spain, Kuwait, and Venezuela.

PetroVietnam has attended IndustriALL Global Union in Brazil, Singapore Trade Union Congress, Norwegian Energy Union Congress, Global Summit of Women in Austria, signing the memorandum of cooperation with Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of Chemical, Mining and Oil; welcoming and working with some oil and gas labor unions: Poland, Spain, Cuba, Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Japan, IndustriALL in Asia - Pacific region.

PetroVienam Labor Union has coordinated with Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to welcome and work with IndustriALL experts; Organizing seminars, working sessions, training courses in Vietnam and abroad to share experiences on Labor union activities, mechanisms and policies.

The term of 2018-2023 is a period of international integration, so the movement of workers and trade unions is not out of the trend. PetroVietnam Labor Union will strengthen the international cooperation and continue to cooperate with industry unions and labor unions of localities with the activities of the oil and gas industry. At the same time, PetroVietnam Labor Union will continue to expand and strengthen the cooperation with trade unions in the region and in the world. Actively participate in forums, workshops and in collaboration with the World Trade Union to organize activities, seminars, and workshops, training in and outside the country.
