Opening a container shipping route at Nghi Son – Thanh Hoa

In the morning of October 08^th, at Terminal 1 - Nghi Son Port (Nghi Son Commune, Tinh Gia District, Thanh Hoa Province), PTSC Thanh Hoa Port Joint Stock Company cooperated with Global Logistics Service Co., Ltd (GLS Shipping) in launching the inland container transportation route from Nghi Son Port to Ben Nghe Port (Ho Chi Minh City). This special event has marked the launch of container handling, forwarding and container transportation service in Nghi Son port and North Central Coast, matched with the Seaport Development Plan up to 2025 approved by the Government.

PTSC Thanh Hoa is currently managing and operating Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Nghi Son port. These terminals can receive ships from 30,000 tons to 70,000 tons offload. From this advantage, container shipping route in Nghi Son is formed by cooperation between PTSC Thanh Hoa and Global Logistics Service Company - GLS Shipping. Container shipping route coming into operation will focus on some services including in providing full ICD services, forwarding, warehousing/storage, containers handling and shipping containers by road and sea route, cargo agent service, customs declaration, shipping agent…

At the first time, Global Ocean Logistics Company GLS Shipping will mobilize Atlantic Ocean ship with a total length of 113 meters with a capacity of 6,866 DWT and a capacity of 404 TEUs per trip to serve in Hai Phong. - Nghi Son - Cua Lo - Ben Nghe, Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong route once a week. It is expected that the frequency of domestic container transportation will increased to 2-3 times per week in 2018 and companies shall cooperate with international shipping lines to develop container transportation services in Nghi Son port
