PTSC Thanh Hoa completed the phase of demolition and detail design engineering for Stg3 Project – Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC

On 16th Oct, 2025, PTSC Thanh Hoa successfully held the Conference on Summarizing Nine-Month Implementation of the STG3 Project, marking a remarkable milestone in completing two major phases – Demolition and Detail Design Engineering – for Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC (NSRP).
At the Conference, Representatives of Management Board of STG3 Project including PTSC, PTSC Thanh Hoa and the Owner NSRP looked back a 9 month-journey full-filled of effort, evaluating the general result, sharing the experience of execution and obtain the valuable lessons for the next phase.
During the execution period, PTSC and PTSC Thanh Hoa has closely coordinated with NSRP and related parties in the synchronous implementation of many important items of the STG3 project - from design engineering, inspection and assessment of the status of existing items of structures, pipes, electrical equipment, control equipment, mechanical equipment, steel reinforcement, foundation, etc. and ordering the purchase of key equipment. This is a large amount of work, carried out under operations of the Refinery, requiring precision, high technique, strict compliance with safety standards and procedures of NSRP.

With the spirit of proactivity - professionalism - determination in action, PTSC/PTSC Thanh Hoa has successfully completed two major milestones of the project including: Design Engineering and Demolition. Both milestones were completed ahead of schedule, demonstrating the management capacity, technical qualification and responsible working spirit of the STG3 Project Board and reflecting the high commitment of PTSC/PTSC Thanh Hoa's leadership to NSRP. This achievement not only contributes to affirming the capacity to implement maintenance and overhaul projects in the oil and gas industry of PTSC/PTSC Thanh Hoa, but also builds great trust with NSRP to continue to support and create conditions for PTSC/PTSC Thanh Hoa to complete the remaining milestones of the STG3 project as well as EPC projects, upgrading, converting, maintaining and repairing the Refinery in the coming time.
Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Pham Hung Phuong - Director of PTSC Thanh Hoa expressed his deep gratitude to the Owner for always accompanying, supporting and effectively coordinating throughout implementation process of the project. He emphasized that the trust and close cooperation between the parties are the key factors assisting the project achieve results beyond expectations, ensuring absolute safety, quality and progress.

The Conference is not only an opportunity to look back on the past 9 months, but also an opportunity for the entire project team to strengthen their determination, promote their experience, and prepare for the construction and installation phase of STG3 - a key item in the overall STG3 project. With the foundation that has been achieved, PTSC Thanh Hoa will continue to accompany NSRP to complete the next goals, contributing to affirming the position of a key unit in the field of maintenance and repair of the oil and gas industry in Vietnam.
Previously, on 20th Nov, 2024, NSRP and PTSC officially entered into contract of the STG3 replacement project. The scope of work includes replacing and converting Steam Turbine 113-A-006 with a capacity of 41.4 MW and auxiliary systems. This is a crucial and strategic project, not only to ensure the supply of electricity for the continuous operation of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, but also to mark an important step forward for PTSC as well as PTSC Thanh Hoa in the field of upgrading and converting in petrochemical refineries and energy industrial plants.
