PTSC THANH HOA HAS STARTED THE PROJECT TO CONVERT CRUDE OIL TANK 151-TK-002 INTO AR TANK AT NGHI SON REFINERY AND PETROCHEMICAL PLANT

The Project to convert crude oil tank 151-TK-002 into Atmosphere Residue – AR) is to store abundant liquid gas from Crude oil Distillation Unit – CDU in the process of change RHDS catalyst or other unexpected problems during normal operation. After the project is completed, NSRP will be able to maintain constant operation without reducing the capacity of Crude oil Distillation Unit – CDU, thereby maintaining the high operating capacity and optimizing benefits for NSRP.

Scope of works of the project to convert crude oil tank 151-TK-002 into AR tank, including:

1. Engineering of converting tank 151-TK-002 into AR tank.
2. Procurement of main materials: heating coil pipe, AR pipe, stream tracing pipe, insulation materials, paint and other materials.
3. In-house fabrication such as pipe bending, welding, cutting, painting
4. Construction and installation at NSRP site such as: Preparing to set up machinery, equipment, cranes, electricity, ventilation and office for construction at the site, installing heating coil pipes in the tank, installing support and AR pipes, installing steam tracing and insulation.
5. Pre-commissioning and commissioning the completed system, cleaning up the site and hand over AR Tank to NSRP

Due to tight time of the project, right after being awarded the bidding, PTSC Thanh Hoa and NSRP has held Kick off Meeting on 23^rd February, 2024 to discuss and agree on the contact point, preparation, mobilization and implementation of the project. At the KOM, PTSC Thanh Hoa has committed to NSRP Leader to mobilize the best manpower to complete the project, ensuring progress, quality and safety.

This is an important, urgent, complicated project, working in a professional environment, with foreign element and in the operating condition of the Plant. Therefore, to keep up with the progress and quality to meet customer’s requirements, PTSC Thanh Hoa has implemented a very strict and professional process of selecting and training manpower and mobilized nearly 250 people, divided into 2 working shifts: day shift and night shift. In addition, PTSC Thanh Hoa quickly conducted safety training for personnel, inspected, searched and affixed inspection stamps to all equipment and materials brought into NSRP. Progress reports are made twice a day at briefings and tool box meetings.

PTSC Thanh Hoa has set a goal to complete the main items including fabricating, manufacturing and installing AR pipeline, fabrication and installing the bottom pipe of heating coil, installing steam tracing pipes for AR pipeline before April 25, 2024 and completing the remaining items, handing over the site before May 21, 2024.
