Labor Union of PVN: Brave - Innovation – Action

In the morning of 13rd April, in Hanoi, PVN Labor Union launched Worker Month, Month on Occupational Safety and health (OSH); celebrated 49 typical Petroleum employees and 33 typical union presidents who had many contributions during Term V of 2013-2018 periods.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Tran Sy Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Petrovietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN); Mr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hong - Vice President of Viet Nam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) ...; Leaders of 9 unions in the system of  Trade Union of Corporations and more than 200 typical employees.

In the opening speech, the Member of Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Association, Chairman of PVN’s Union - Mrs. Nghiem Thuy Lan said: "In 2018, the oil and gas industry would continue to overcome many challenges and difficulties due to economic recession, oil prices have been recovering slowly and unpredictably, the process of boosting enterprise’s restructure and challenges in the integration process.

Therefore, Labor Union of PVN has and will have to strongly change both the method and content of activities, especially care for improving the material and mental life of employees, especially in the employee’s month.

To achieve the target, from the beginning of the year, Labor Union of PVN has closely coordinated with PVN to launch emulation movement "Excellent Labor", "Creative Labor", "Ensure Occupational Safety and Hygiene" , "Promoting Innovations, Improving Techniques", "Excel at work and be perfect at home" ... among the staffs and at the units in the key projects of the industry. As a result, the employees are continuously trained and developed, mastering modern and advanced science and technology, meeting the new requirements.

At this year's ceremony, PVN’s Union honored 49 typical employees - a meaningful title for direct employees. This is one of the practical actions with the motto directed to the employee - For the employee!" underlined Mrs. Nghiem Thuy Lan.

At the honor ceremony, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of Petrovietnam highly appreciated and affirmed that the action of PVN’s Labor Union and PVN coordinately held the Launching Ceremony of Employee Month, Action Month for Safety and Security, honoring typical employees, rewarding the typical union representatives was a very meaningful action towards the employees, to recognize, honor the devotion employees, to motivate them to continue to contribute for the development of PVN.

This is also a chance for PVN’s Union to care for, to build and develop the employee force of oil and gas, to promote the pride of tradition, the image of the "Fire seekers", those who worked days and nights, experienced difficult times for the development of PVN. May is also a key month for PVN’s Union to care more for hard-working, unemployed, low-income, occupational diseases and occupational accidents employees.
