Inauguration of Ca Mau Gas Processing Plant

On 2nd May 2018, at the Khanh An Industrial Park, U Minh district, Ca Mau province, Politburo member, Ms.Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, National Assembly Chairman attended and participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony of Ca Mau Gas Processing Plant (Ca Mau GPP).

Attending the inauguration ceremony were representatives of leaders of ministries, departments and central branches. On behalf of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN), there were Mr. Tran Sy Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Members; Representatives of the Board of Directors and leaders of units of the Corporation, Representative of Ca Mau province. On behalf of PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas), Mr.Le Nhu Linh, Secretary of the Party Committee - Chairman of the Board of Director - Mr. Duong Manh Son - General Director; members in the Board of Directors, trade unions, departments and subordinates and PV GAS members. PV GAS's contractors, partners, colleagues and associates also attended the event

Ca Mau Gas Processing Plant (CMGPP) is the implementation of the policy of high processing in order to increase the value of gas, effectively utilize resources, ensure national energy security. PVN has assigned PV GAS to be the investor and executor of this project. POSCO Engineering Company (PEN) and PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) are a credible and capable joint-venture of contractors who have been selected by PV GAS to carry out EPC package of the project.

Mr.Duong Manh Son, General Director of PV GAS said that CMGPP has the capacity of processing 6.2 million m3 of gas per day from PM3-CAA gas source with the storage system with capacity of 8,000 tons of LPG and 3,000 m3 of condensate and the port system exporting the products. The total investment of the project is over 10 thousand billion VND, the value of the EPC package is about 5500 billion VND. After completing construction and putting into operation, CMGPP supplies about 600 tons of LPG per day, equivalent to 200,000 tons of LPG per year, providing 35 tons of Condensate per day, equivalent to 12,000 tons of Condensate per year, satisfying about 10% of the demand in the domestic market. With the high technical and technological requirements, the completed works which have leading advanced technology increase the high recovery LPG under international standards, ensuring the safe operation and protecting the environment in comparison with similar projects so far.

Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Members affirmed that since 2001, the Government of Vietnam has decided to invest in construction of Ca Mau Gas - Electricity - Fertilizer Industrial Complex in Khanh An Commune, U Minh District, Ca Mau Province. In order to effectively exploit and utilize the country's natural gas resources from the PM3-CAA Block, the overlapping area offshore Vietnam and Malaysia, PetroVietnam Oil and Gas Group was honorably assigned to be investor of Ca Mau Gas - Electricity - Fertilizer Project by the Party and Government.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Ms.Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressed the glad of being in Ca Mau province in the joyful atmosphere celebrating the great anniversary of the country in 2018, attending the inauguration ceremony of Ca Mau Gas Processing Plant.

The senior leaders and guests took part in the cutting ribbon, visited the factory, and attached the board of the works.

At the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and other delegates planted the commemorative tree in the factory, cheering for the green-clean-beautiful movement of the new project, promoting the culture of safety and protection of the environment of the entire oil and gas industry.

Ca Mau GPP has been completed and put into the operation process will help PV GAS achieve the strategic objectives such as playing a leading role in the gas industry of Vietnam, developing in the international market, carrying out high quality processing in order to increase the value of gas from PM3-CAA, resolving the lack of LPG in Vietnamese market, decreasing the LPG volume imported annually, increasing contributions to local budgets.

April 23^rd  2015: Ground-breaking of the Ground Filling Package

August 13^th  2015: EPC Contract Signing Ceremony of PV Gas: Design, Procurement, Construction and Commisionning of Gas Plant, Warehouse, Exporting Port - Package no.1 of Ca Mau Gas Processing Plant Project with PEN - PTSC joint-venture

April 2016: Deploying the installation of the tank and main items of the factory.

September 14, 2016: Successful installation of the liquid and gas separation tower (De-ethanizer, T-1501) weighing 135 tons and 50m high, heart "of the factory by the Management Board of Ca Mau Gas Processing Plant 

February 2017: Completed installation of the project

March, 2017: Official reception of the first gas to test the technology system and the whole Ca Mau Gas Processing Plant

October 05, 2017: Successful test of the first commercial LPG shipment for tank trucks

December 06, 2017: Completed construction works to put into use
