PTSC Thanh Hoa completes the ppu overhaul project ahead of schedule at NSRP: a strong demonstration of capability, resilience, and strategic role

On 4^th Nov 2025, PTSC Thanh Hoa and NSRP officially entered into the contract to execute the comprehensive maintenance for the Polypropylene Unit (PPU) of the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant (NSRP). The PPU is responsible for producing polypropylene resin - a high-value product with a broad consumption market, directly contributing to the plant’s operational efficiency and playing a crucial role in the Refinery’s overall value chain.

As part of NSRP’s 2025 Turnaround plan, PTSC Thanh Hoa was entrusted to execute 103 Work Packs within the PPU, covering four groups of critical equipment and technical systems. These included rotating equipment (such as Compressors, Extruders, Mixers, Screw Feeders, Rotary Feeders, Seal Pistons, Loop Reactor Circulation Pumps, Jacket Water Circulation Pumps, and lubrication systems for specific machinery). Particularly for the overhaul of the 061-K-301 Compressor - the most critical equipment of the PPU, PTSC Thanh Hoa executed the work strictly following technical procedures, ensuring safety and receiving high commendation from the Client, despite the absence of OEM specialist support. In addition, the project scope included static equipment, electrical systems, and instrumentation & control activities such as flange alignment, piping repair, electrostatic precipitator cleaning, LV/MV motor maintenance, power cable inspection, equipment calibration, and signal loop checks. All tasks were carried out in accordance with the stringent standards applied at a major refinery like NSRP.

The project posed significant challenges for PTSC Thanh Hoa due to its large workload, high technical requirements, and particularly the extremely tight execution window of just 08 days. More than 200 personnel were mobilized, working continuously around the clock (24/7). Every work item was meticulously planned and coordinated to ensure optimal and efficient execution, project schedule. Given the constrained working space and dense equipment arrangement, safety was placed as the top priority. PTSC Thanh Hoa ensured that 100% of personnel were fully trained and certified in safety procedures; all construction equipment underwent strict inspection; the Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedure was rigorously applied; and safety supervision was maintained continuously at all critical zones. Thanks to thorough preparation and disciplined execution, PTSC Thanh Hoa successfully completed the project ahead of schedule, meeting NSRP’s quality requirements and ensuring absolute safety.

The success of the PPU Turnaround not only marks a key technical milestone but also serves as clear evidence of PTSC Thanh Hoa’s strong execution capability in large-scale maintenance packages requiring stringent standards in schedule, technical precision, and safety. This achievement further reinforces PTSC Thanh Hoa’s position as a leading technical services provider in the North and North Central regions.
