PVN fulfilled assigned tasks in 2017

In the morning of January 12th, PetroVietnam (PVN) held a conference to review activities in 2017 and implement the plan in 2018. Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung attended the conference and delivered a speech.

There was attendance of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade – Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication – Mr. Pham Hong Hai, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of the Stated Businesses’ Sector – Mr. Pham Tan Cong and other representatives of the Party Committee, Government and Ministries

On behalf of PVN, there were Mr. Tran Sy Thanh – PetroVietnam Chairman and Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son – Member of PetroVietnam Board of Directors, CEO of PetroVietnam as well as other leaders of PetroVietnam

At the conference, CEO Nguyen Vu Truong Son reported business results in 2017 and plans in 2018.

In 2017, PetroVietnam had to face with high competitions from imported products while many obstacles in mechanism and policy have not been resolved in time; some corruption cases of PetroVietnam leaders are being processed by authorities…

However, PetroVietnam (PVN) has basically fulfilled the targets set in 2017. In particular, the output of crude oil in the country exceeded 1.29 million tons compared with the plan assigned by the government. At the beginning of the year, it contributed significantly to GDP growth of 6.81%; Contributed to the state budget, exceeded 22.9 trillion compared with the proposed, has contributed significantly to the balance of the central budget in 2017.

CEO Nguyen Vu Truong Son still believed that PetroVietnam would fulfill assigned tasks in 2018.

Addressing at the meeting; Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung shared with the difficulties and challenges that PVN has been faced with. He also highly appreciated PetroVietnam leaders and employees’ unity and efforts to in order to overcome difficulties and fulfill assigned tasks in 2017, contributing significantly to national economic development.

Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung believed that PetroVietnam would successfully complete its production and business objectives in 2018 and the following years.

Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of Petrovietnam expressed his thanks for the guidance and support of the Party and The Government for the Group's activities. He also believed that the crisis period of PetroVietnam would soon close which leads to new opportunities for sustainable development

Some targets of PVN's plan in 2018:

- The increase of oil reserves shall be 10-15 million tons;

- Oil and gas exploration gained 22.83 million tons of oil equivalent, of which crude oil was 13.23 million tons; gas production reached 9.6 billion m3;

- Electricity production reached 21.57 billion kWh;

- Nitrogen production reached 1,540 thousand tons;

- Petroleum production reached 11,774 thousand tons.
