On 12^th December 2019 in Ha Noi, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group has cooperated with Investor Magazine to hold a seminar on the topic "What to do to strengthen and develop the brand of Oil and Gas enterprises?” Petrotime would like to quote the speech of Mr. Nguyen Hung Dung – Member of the Board of Members Petro Vietnam about the strengthening and brand development of Oil and Gas enterprises, summarizing PVN's outstanding actvities in 2019 at the seminar.

Over the past 60 years, under the leadership of the Party and State; From the will of President Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry has strived to grow and grow with the country.  Successfully completing the tasks entrusted by the Party, the State and the People to build a modern and synchronized Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, holding a leading position in the cause of industrialization and modernization of land, has made great contributions to the construction and defense of the Fatherland

Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group has gained many achievements, making the prestigious Petrovietnam brand both at home and abroad.

Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group has achieved many successes, among which there are 08 major and outstanding achievements, making a name and a Petrovietnam brand.

The Group has built a complete and synchronous system of petroleum industry facilities from search, exploration, processing of oil and gas, gas industry, electricity and petroleum services.

Completely operate under the Group model; successfully implement corporate restructuring, focusing on core areas.  Complete the synchronous political system in the entire Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and is gradually implementing a comprehensive restructuring of the Group from now to 2025.

The Group has been operating effectively in production and business, always being in the top of the enterprises contributing the most to the State budget, socio-economic development. Total turnover reached over 374 billion USD, contributing to the State budget of over 105 billion USD.

Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group has become a pioneer group in international cooperation and integration.  The Group has been actively seeking and expanding investment abroad; improve Petrovietnam's reputation and brand in the international market; actively contributing to bringing the image of Vietnam to international friends.

The Group has built a strong contingent of petroleum workers, with the current workforce of nearly 60,000 highly qualified people capable of mastering petroleum activities at home and abroad.  In which, over 5,500 people have postgraduate degrees; over 25,000 people with university and college degrees; more than 25,000 skilled workers basically meet the development needs of Vietnam's petroleum industry now and in the future.

The Group has actively promoted and effectively implemented its role as the "economic leader" of the country. From the results of the implementation of petroleum projects over the past time, the Group has become the core and the nucleus in the formation of concentrated industrial parks in: Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai - Hiep Phuoc, Ca Mau, Dung Quat - Quang Ngai, Da Nang, Vung Ang - Ha Tinh, Nghi Son - Thanh Hoa...

The Group actively participates in protecting sovereignty and national borders at sea and always aware of and highly responsible in sharing with the community, contributing annually to the social security work hundreds of billion.

From the results, achievements, thousands of collective and tens of thousands of individuals have been awarded medals - medals, medals, certificates of merit and many emulation titles at all levels such as: 2 collectives were awarded the Gold Star Medal; 02 Ho Chi Minh awards and 01 State prize for science and technology; 9 collectives and 5 individuals were awarded the title of Labor Hero; 12 Independence Medals of all grades ; 2 Military Medal; 3 Fatherland Protection Medal; Especially, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group was awarded the title of Labor Hero and the highest medal by the Party and State: the Gold Star Medal.

Despite many difficulties and disadvantages, but with a high determination in directing, operating and organizing the implementation of synchronous solutions, focusing on improving the efficiency of governance, creates the consensus of Petroleum workers.

In the past year, the Group has organized many activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry to fulfill Ho Chi Minh wishes (July 23, 1959 - July 23, 2019) such as: Seminar "60-year journey. ”, Photo Exhibition and Celebration, Celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Vietnam Union's Establishment, Opening of the first Oil and Gas Project Souvenir Area in Vietnam.

For the first time, Petrovietnam assumed the role of General Secretary in the history of establishment and development of ASCOPE. This demonstrates the deep integration, the positive role of Petrovietnam and its members in the Southeast Asian oil and gas community, in parallel with the increasing position of Vietnam in ASEAN.

The Group and its subsidiaries continuously receive high appreciation in management, administration and reaping many meaningful and valuable awards (From innovation, improving the efficiency of corporate governance, The Group is ranked by the world's leading organization Fitch Ratings, ranking BB +; continues to hold the leading position in the Top 500 list of Vietnam's most profitable enterprises by Vietnam Report, and at the same time, continues leads with two names in the Top 10 VNR500 Ranking - Top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam in 2019.

Under the wise leadership of the Party and the Government, over half a century, the collective of officers and workers of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry through periods of tireless dedication, overcoming all challenges and difficulties To build up Vietnam's petroleum industry to become the country's leading economic-technical industry, making great contributions to the cause of national construction and defense, achieving many achievements and creating trade achievements. Currently, implementing the Resolution 41 NQ / TW of the Politburo on the Strategic Orientation for Development of Vietnam's Oil and Gas Industry to 2025 and Vision to 2035, with the viewpoint and goal of building PVN into a business corporation. Strong economic conditions of Vietnam and the region, being the best model of State-owned enterprises, are shown as one of the main pillars of the State economy.

In the new development period, besides many advantages, the Group faces many difficulties and challenges; Especially, the "silence" period 2015 - 2017 has affected significantly the image, prestige and brand of the Group and some of its affiliates and at the same time caused significant material damage through money, Value of shares, stocks, assets of the business, calling for investment with domestic and foreign partners.

Therefore, the consolidation and brand development (associated with production and business activities on the basis of advanced corporate governance and corporate culture) of the Group and its subsidiaries in the current period. This is very important and necessary.

For Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, building a brand, strengthening, preserving and developing a brand is a vital task, without a brand, no business will exist. In the direction from the leaders of the Group to the units, we always understand each unit is to change the mindset of the Leader; the corporate culture imprints the leadership.
