PVN’s Chairman had a meeting with CGG executives

In the morning of 15th March 2018, Mr, Tran Sy Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of Central Economic Boards, Party Committee Secretary, PVN Chairman of Board of Directors had a meeting with Mr. Christophe Barnini, Senior Vice President, Group Communications of CCG (France).

Attending the meeting, there were PVN Vice President – Nguyen Quynh Lam, representatives of PVN and PTSC’s executives.

The meeting

CGG – its full name is Compagnie Generale de Geophysique; its head quarter is in Paris (France). It is a fully integrated Geoscience company providing leading geological, geophysical and reservoir capabilities to its broad base of customers primarily from the global oil and gas industry. Through its three complementary business divisions of Equipment, Acquisition and Geology, Geophysics & Reservoir (GGR), CGG brings value across all aspects of natural resource exploration and exploitation.

In Vietnam, CGG has provided exploration services to oil and gas projects since the years of 1960s and implemented almost oil and gas exploration projects within 10 years recently.

At the meeting, Senior Vice President Christophe Barnini sent his congratulation to Mr. Tran Sy Thanh on his new position as PVN’s Chairman. Mr. Christophe Barnini also hopes that Mr. Tran Sy Thanh continued to develop the long term relationship between PVN and CGG. Both sides discussed plans of PVN/PTSC in oil and gas exploration as well as related activities.

PVN’s Chairman of the Board of Directors – Mr. Tran Sy Thanh highly appreciated the cooperation and development between CGG and PVN in oil and gas exploration; emphasized the importance of exploration activities in the development plans of PVN in the future. PVN and its subsidiaries commit to cooperate and support CGG to boost the exploration activities in VN.
