On April 6th, in Hanoi, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) held a conference on service deployment in 2018. At here, oil and gas service companies have presented difficulties and challenges; confirming the competitiveness with the international rivals.
Attending and directing the meeting were Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group; Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son, Members of the Board of Directors, President and CEO of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group; Representatives of central ministries and branches; Government office; Members of the Board; Board of Directors of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group with leaders of specialized departments and units in the Group's services.

Mr. Tran Sy Thanh has spoken at the conference on service deployment in 2018.

Vice President of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group – Mr. Nguyen Hung Dung reported the production and business of oil and gas services in 2017 and the direction of 2018.
Facing the impacts of the world economy, the domestic economic situation has a direct impact on production and business activities. PVN has implemented Resolution No. 41 of the Politburo on the determination strategic development of Vietnam's oil and gas industry to 2025 and vision to 2035; identified specific targets for each core field of the Group.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) – Mr. Nguyen Van Que has spoken at the conference.
The performance of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group in 2017 reached 167.2 trillion VND, equaling 102.2% of the year plan and accounting for 33.6% of total revenue of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, increase 11.2% revenue compared to 2016.

President and CEO of PV Drilling - Mr. Pham Tien Dung delivered a speech at the conference.
Particularly, companies in PVN (Vietnam Oil and Gas Group) have actively carried out the expansion of oil and gas services abroad. The total revenue of oil and gas services from abroad in 2017 is estimated at VND29.4 trillion, up by VND17.5 trillion compared to 2016. In particular, there were some companies with outstanding services such as PTSC reached 2.601 trillion VND, PVTrans reached 1.170 trillion VND and especially PVOIL gained 22.146 trillion VND.
Besides the results, the units of oil and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group still face many difficulties and exist to overcome. Participants in the conference frankly shared difficult issues, working together to find solutions.

Addressing the conference, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh praised the effort and achievements of units in the field of petroleum services. Mr. Tran Sy Thanh also asked the Board of Directors of the Group, units operating in the field of services to quickly restructure and improve the competitiveness of units. It is suggested that leaders should speed up the bidding jobs, use domestic services, openly and transparently in competition and raise the quality of petroleum services.

In conclusion, President and CEO of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group Nguyen Vu Truong Son highly appreciated efforts to overcome difficulties, to achieve the satisfactory results of service units in 2017. Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son affirmed that 2018 would continue to be a difficult year for service units about employment, and competition within and outside the industry. So the units must work harder and cooperate closely in all new fields to overcome together
