Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Hoang Quoc Vuong was appointed Chairman of PVN

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has just decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, as Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN).

Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong will take over this position to replace Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, former Chairman of PVN, who has been transferred and appointed as Deputy Chairman of the Office of the National Assembly since August 2020.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong was born in 1963, graduated from MGRI Mining School in Russia. Before being promoted to PVN Chairman, Mr. Vuong held the position of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong also served as Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee. In 2010, Mr. Vuong was appointed as Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade. From September 2012, Mr. Vuong resigned from the position of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade and changed to Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Electricity (EVN).

In January 2015, Mr. Vuong resigned from the position of President of EVN to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
