In the morning of 12th April in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh , PVN’s Chairman had a meeting and working session with Mr. João Manuel Bernardo, Ambassador of Angola in Vietnam. Attending the meeting, there were other executives of PVN.
At the reception, Ambassador Bernador congratulated Mr. Tran Sy Thanh on his new position – PVN’s Chairman and he also hoped that Mr. Tran Sy Thanh would support and enhance the cooperation between PetroVietnam and Sonangol Group.

Ambassador Bernardo also shared with PVN’s Chairman – Mr. Tran Sy Thanh about some oil and gas activities of Angola as well as intentions, plans and orientation for energy development of Angola government in the next time. Ambassador Bernardo welcomed and committed to create favorable conditions, support PetroVietnam and its subsidiaries in order to implement oil and gas projects in Angola as well as cooperation activities with Sonangol. Besides, Ambassador Bernardo also wished to be a bridge for cooperation between the Government of Vietnam - Angola in general and Petrovietnam - Sonangol in particular.

On behalf of PVN, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh emphasized about special diplomatic relationship between Vietnam – Angola that has been established since the years of 70s. He also said that Petrovietnam and Sonangol would continue exchanging and evaluating the possibility of cooperation in the field of petroleum.
It is hoped that both sides will strengthen the exchange of development experiences in the oil and gas sector in particular, in the field of economy in general, develop and access to science and technology of developed countries for application to work in the future
